A remake of a 1998 piece ASCII History of the Arts for the Blind, looking at people modelling with flags. It appears that not all humans have enough intellectual or ethical stamina to resist the call to rally under the flag. Time and time again that weakness is abused by demagogues and this project is showing few examples old and new. The paradox of a voice reading ASCII images serves as a reminder that no amount of persuasion is going to help break the fever. The choice of amber ASCII video format serves as one more element of nostalgia.
